Words & Wiggles Therapy Camp

Monday, Wednesday & Fridays
8:30-11:00 a.m. OR 1:00-3:30 p.m. (groups determined by child's age/needs)
June 18-August 17 (no camp week of July 2-6)

 

Words & Wiggles camp is an intensive eight-week program with a focus on developing receptive/expressive language skills, motor speech skills, social skills, sensory-motor integration, and gross/fine motor skills. Each camp group will be facilitated by a trained KCC therapist and two assistant counselors.

Krayon Kids Handwriting Camp

Tuesday & Thursdays
1:30-3:30 p.m.
June 19-August 16


Krayon Kids utilizes the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum, which focuses on introducing the alphabet in a developmentally-appropriate sequence using hands-on and multi-sensory resources. Designed for preschool and kindergarten-aged children, the camp will utilize the Get Set for School workbook. Camp content will focus on developing skills such as pre-writing strokes and shapes with an introduction to capital letters and numbers in order to prepare your child's little fingers for kindergarten handwriting. A KCC occupational therapist and two assistant counselors will facilitate camp.

Interactive Metronome Group

Tuesday & Thursdays
3:00-5:00 p.m.
June 19-August 16


The IM program provides a structured, goal-oriented process that challenges the child to synchronize a range of hand and foot exercises to a precise computer-generated reference tone heard through headphones. The child attempts to match the rhythmic beat with repetitive motor actions. For kids 6 and up.IM helps with inattention, impulsivity, disorganization, poor study habits, balance and handwriting

Social Skills Groups

Kids 3-5 years: Thursdays, June 21-August 16, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Kids ages 6-8: Mondays, July 16-August 20, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Kids ages 9-12: Tuesdays, July 17-August 21, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Groups focus on enhancing social communication, understanding and confidence through games, discussion, role play, video clips and other techniques. Participation may be helpful for children whose peer relationships are hampered by issues related to AD/HD, Asp­erger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), learning problems, language delays, and auditory processing disorders.
