The Kaufman Center

The Kaufman Children’s Center provides individual speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration therapy, social skills instruction, and applied verbal behavior therapy for children ages birth to 17 years old. Realizing that “one therapy approach doesn’t fit all,” the KCC staff is trained in state of the art speech and occupational therapy services and create an individualized approach for each child. Located in West Bloomfield, Michigan, a northwest suburb of Detroit, the KCC is an award-winning facility, offering a warm, playful, family-friendly environment.

Student Observer Program

We are pleased to offer student observation days to speech and OT students looking for observation hours, or for those considering a career in those fields. Observations days will take place once per month, on alternating second Wednesdays and Thursdays (see schedule below) and will offer a morning session from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and an afternoon session from 1:00-4:30 p.m.. Participants should plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before the first session.

Each session's schedule will start with a brief orientation followed by three hours of observation and will wrap up with a half-hour Q&A session with a therapist (time and availability permitting). We recommend that observers bring paper and pen for note taking.
