The following positions are currently open at the Kaufman Children’s Center. Please read each for individual application details.

The Kaufman Children’s Center for Speech, Language, Sensory-Motor, and Social Connections, Inc. is seeking a clinic coordinator/manager. At outset of hiring, this person would oversee and manage all aspects of activities that are needed to prepare a new pediatric therapy center to be open and receive clients/families (target January 2018). Once the new center is open the coordinator/manager must work effectively with staff, clients/families, and public and external agencies. The coordinator/manager must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise. The clinic coordinator/manager will foster the mission of the KCC and goals of teambuilding with the clinic staff.



  • History of success of management in a clinical setting
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard office machinery including computer systems and applications
  • Possess good grammatical and business communication skills
  • Be systematic and organized
  • Understand insurance authorization processes
  • Navigate insurance provider data systems
  • Prioritize tasks quickly and multi-task as needed
  • Be flexible and thoughtful when facing challenges
  • Work independently and efficiently
  • Be proficient in computer skills to include word, excel and EMR (electronic medical record)
  • Understand and comply with all HIPPA regulations
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and how it affects reimbursement from third party payors


Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of ordering, receiving, and organizing therapy and office materials and furniture
  • Interface with general contractors and center owner on a regular basis to monitor task completion
  • Coordinate all technical set-up needs with IT consultants
  • Identify and secure all building permit/safety requirements needed to open
  • Become proficient with all aspects of center EMR, billing software and processes, authorization processes, scheduling
  • Interface regularly with all clinical, clerical, and support staff
  • Oversee all contracted services to maintain the facility (pest control, utilities, cleaning, repairs)
  • Answer incoming phone calls and greet families at front desk as needed.
  • Communicate with prospective families
  • Organize/update/maintain waiting list together with ABA director(s)
  • Communicate all center/program policies to clients/families and insure they are followed
  • Receive and respond to and follow-up with any client/family concerns
  • Attend administrative meetings with owner, administrators, and directors as needed
  • Review and address any policy issues that arise (attendance, parent training expectations, mandated reporting, etc.)
  • Document, respond to/address and achieve resolution for any client/family concerns that arise
  • Contact prospective families to manage openings and provide center tours
  • Verify client/member benefits prior to treatment
  • Outline cost shares (co-pay, co-insurance, out of pocket) and communicate to clients/families
  • Monitor status of payments/invoices with billing department
  • Support speech, OT, and ABA staff with initial and concurrent authorizations for clients as needed
  • Willingness to occasionally attend to office needs after regular office hours


Physical Requirements

  • Literacy: Must be able to read written material from a variety of sources. Must be able to distinguish colors and view computer screen daily for several hours at a time
  • Speaking/Hearing: Must be able to communicate with staff and patients on phone or in person. Must be able to receive information through oral communication
  • Attention: Must be able to concentrate on work tasks amidst distractions
  • Stress Tolerance: Must be able to exhibit self-control when with dealing clients/families or other clinic staff who become upset
  • Throughout the day (Frequently): sit, walk, stand, type, write
  • Throughout the day (Occasionally): bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder, kneel, lift (up to 35 pounds)

The KCC has an immediate opening for an occupational therapy technician to clean equipment and assist our therapists.


The OT tech is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing treatment areas and equipment, and assisting the therapists with elements of treatment sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for a student studying occupational therapy as it will give them direct access to an excellent facility with experienced OTs providing cutting-edge treatment.

The KCC is seeking a full-time applied behavior analysis tech to work one-on-one with children experiencing autism spectrum disorders or other language and learning challenges.


Our ABA staff uses the principles and teaching procedures of applied behavior analysis/verbal behavior.


A four-year college degree is highly preferred. Individuals should be self motivated, wonderful with children, and have a desire to learn. Training is provided and is ongoing. ABA experience is preferred. Practicum available.
