Fine Motor Disorders

Fine motor skills involve using the smaller muscle groups (fingers, toes, lips, wrists, and tongue). Examples of fine motor movements include cutting, picking up small objects, buttoning, and handwriting. Children with fine motor difficulties may have trouble with arts and crafts projects that require using scissors, fasteners while dressing, tying shoelaces, or eating with utensils.
