The OUCARES free Family Fun Day is an opportunity for families to learn about the autism resources available to them. Families were able to meet with representatives from more than 20 organizations. In addition to the KCC sensory room, a variety of activities were available for kids and their families, including swimming, arts and crafts, moonwalks and caricatures.
Oakland University’s Center for Autism Research, Education and Support (OUCARES) provides innovative programs for teachers, programming and counseling for individuals and their families living with autism spectrum disorder. The multifaceted approach includes education for professionals, research in the field of autism education and daily living, as well as support services for families.
