Kaufman Children's Center is an award-winning clinic offering speech and language therapy, sensory-motor therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) autism programs. Our departments work together to maximize each child's ability to function at home, school, and in the community. The center includes bright therapy rooms, fun group spaces, and amazing sensory gyms.
Being able to have all of our son's therapy services in one place made a huge difference in his progress. All of the therapists, behavior techs, and staff became like family to us, and we will always cherish our time at KCC.

History of Kaufman Children's Center
Speech-language pathologist Nancy R. Kaufman entered private practice in late 1992 with only an answering machine for support. In the years since, the KCC has expanded in both scope and size, becoming a leader in innovative treatment programs.
In addition to a full speech and language team, the center now includes occupational therapy and sensory integration services. KCC was one of the first organizations in Michigan to begin offering applied behavior analysis (ABA) for children with autism spectrum disorders, a program that has flourished in the time since.
KCC kids benefit from the coordination of over 70 speech, OT, and ABA professionals working together on a daily basis to create programs that support each child’s needs across all settings. Parents of kids requiring more than one type of therapy benefit from the convenience of having so many services at the same location.
In 2005, the center’s growth necessitated a move from a small suite of offices to its own 11,000 square-foot building on Daly Road in West Bloomfield. A state-of-the-art sensory gym, one of the first in the state, was added in 2013. The KCC annexed the building next door in 2018, allowing the ABA program to expand to help meet the demands of a long waiting list.
